To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases Together, integrating talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future as FCL’s ‘It’s You’ receives a remix from Alex Wann and a live mix from FCL member Red D with OG vocalist Lady Linn. A modern classic from Belgian house duo FCL that garnered global attention in the summer of 2013, San Soda’s Panorama Bar Acca Version of ‘It’s You’ was praised for its uniquely stark composition – one that bucked genre trends in favour of sheer musicality and vocal house vibes. With only 100 vinyl copies released on Red D’s We Play Recordings initially, the rare track was soon picked up by Defected; remixes from a host of huge names followed, including MK, David Morales, and Mousse T., while the seminal track featured in The Guardian, Attack Magazine and Resident Advisor. Now ten years later, Parisian maestro Alex Wann adds his name to the list of remixers, delivering an ethereal remix built from Afro electronic inspired rhythms and dreamlike keys.
